Homemaker Redefined

Our Mission:

To encourage the new generation of Homemakers.

The generation shaped by a culture that celebrated women leaning into their masculinity.

The generation who was told they’d be giving up on themselves if they became stay at home moms.

The generation who feels:

…unfulfilled by their lives.

…disconnected from their femininity.

…ashamed by their failed attempts at cooking, gardening, & all things homemaking.

…overwhelmed by how much they need to learn.

…confused about where to start.

Vision & Values:

At Willingness Within, we believe the new generation deserves a new definition of the term Homemaker; one that conveys their strength and heart.

When people hear the word Homemaker, they think of an oppressed, 1950’s housewife. That’s what we’re trying to change.

We refute the idea that being a homemaker means you can’t have a job. We also refute the idea that a homemaker needs to bring in an income if her family benefits more from her being home (let’s not forget that being home still means she’s working hard). We believe women were meant to be creative and to create, in whatever capacity benefits their home. We believe that being a Homemaker can look different for everyone, but has the same selflessness and willingness at its root.

So what is our definition of a homemaker?

Homemaker Redefined: a woman who prioritizes her home over herself.

Being a Homemaker is hard. It’s not easy to put others before yourself. It’s hard to find the motivation to keep trying when you continue to mess up…when you follow a recipe precisely but end up burning dinner, or when you give all your attention to a houseplant just for it to die, or when you do load after load of laundry only to still be behind, or when you’re tired and disheartened but feel guilty if you don’t create a welcoming, fun environment for your family.

Whether you’re facing a never ending to-do list, judgement from friends, mountains of laundry, or self-doubt, it takes courage to be a Homemaker, and that’s where we come in.

With the right tools and a little understanding, our hope is you’ll be able to find the courage to confidently and proudly say you’re a Homemaker Redefined.
